October 8th thru 12th is Public Power Week !

Public Power Week is a national, annual event sponsored in conjunction with the American Public Power Association, the national service organization for community and state-owned electric utilities. Public Power Week is a celebration of these not-for-profit electric utilities that proudly serve the electric power needs of about 40 million Americans – or almost 15 percent of electricity consumers.

Algoma Utilities would like to invite community members to stop by our office throughout the week to receive a FREE energy efficiency item* – energy-saving light bulbs, LED night light or an indoor timer for just stopping in!  We are collecting new-packaged school supply items to benefit a local school (see the list below).  If you donate a school supply, you can receive another FREE energy efficiency item!* and if you Sign-up for the utilities’ FREE auto bill pay service and you can have a bonus item!*

Items we are collecting to benefit a local school are:

  • Sticky notes (any size)
  • Black dry erase markers
  • Liquid glue and glue sticks
  • Permanent markers
